Works in Pare Back Landscapes investigate the public silencing of women. Through anthropomorphising a landscape scene, notions of emotional recovery from patriarchal oppression are explored. By pairing back and experimenting with formal visual elements, this body of work considers the points of contention between a state of inner calm and the act of speaking up.
