Fantasy Hills XII emerged on the canvas after a day trip to Trephina Gorge in East MacDonnell Ranges. Spending a day there gave me time to climb her sheer sides and walk across her high top. The colour palette came from seeing the Painted Finches, the Grey Headed Honey Eaters and the mauve of the wild Eremophila found embedded in the rocky out crops.
